About Us

CentrePoint Corporation is a Community Interest Company (CIC), providing access to children and young people with disabilities; during out of term times to promote continuity of services, build/maintain skills learned and provide much needed short-breaks for parents/carers of people with disabilities in Bromley and Croydon. There is no single model for extended "school" – what is on offer is shaped by the needs and demands of learners, parents, carers and the wider community. Where appropriate Work Preparation skills are offered through our expert customised employment services

Marcelle Bunbury-Stephen, MA, M.Ed, B.Ed
Founder and Managing Director

Marcelle qualified as a licensed Teacher, having graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Canada with a degree in Primary Education. She joined McGill’s Department of Graduate Studies and obtained a Masters degree in Special Educational Needs and holds a valid Special Educational Needs licence. She obtained a Masters degree in Policy and Management in Education from Goldsmiths University of London. As an educator she held various teaching and for the past 5 years managerial positions with line management responsibility for large teams with student population of up to 500 all of whom had learning and or mental health difficulties (severe to moderate). Most recently she managed and achieved all outcomes related to creating a Centre of Excellence at a large sector college and for the North London Employability Project funded by the Learning and Skills Council.

To further develop her work in this area and model good practice with a community focus she founded CentrePoint Corporation C.I.C. a not-for-profit organisation and holds the role of Managing Director. Her duties include but are not limited to: promoting Employability for people with disabilities; engaging and working in partnership with employers to reverse the dismal unemployment statistics amongst the disabled whilst breaking the ‘revolving door’ cycle.
