Membership information
Who can apply for CentrePoint Corporation C.I.C membership?

Membership of CentrePoint Corporation C.I.C is open to charities, voluntary organisations and community groups operating for the benefit of Croydon & Bromley people and whose aims are compatible with those of CentrePoint Corporation C.I.C.

Eligible organisations must either be:
  • a registered charity or
  • an unincorporated voluntary organisation with a constitution or
  • a non-profit organisation with purposes akin to a charity or voluntary organisation or
  • a group in the process of becoming one of the above which can show evidence that a group of people is involved and that they are working towards establishing a constitution.
  • Exception – employers wishing to offer work (paid or voluntary) to the disabled
Eligible organisations must also either be:
  • based in the London Borough of Croydon or Bromley or
  • have a local committee for the Croydon/Bromley area or
  • clearly provide a service for the boroughs or residents on a regional basis
  • Exception – employers wishing to offer work (paid or voluntary) to the disabled
Potential members whose activities are primarily political are not eligible for membership.

How much does it cost & what benefits are on offer?

Membership is currently free so there is no reason not to join!
N.B. CentrePoint Corporation C.I.C is a Community Interest Company limited by shares.

Networks and events

Referral for membership to key voluntary organisation where if successful, you will access the following:
  • A programme of events on many aspects of running a voluntary organisation – current events include evenings for trustees and workshops on accessible premises, fundraising and using volunteer IT professionals
  • An annual voluntary sector conference to meet other organisations and leading speakers in the voluntary sector
  • A Finance Forum of treasurers and finance workers, meeting regularly and providing access to latest best practice, advice and information on financial management issues
  • A Volunteer Co-ordinators Forum for those responsible for supporting and managing volunteers
Influence:
  • Be part of a growing network of voluntary and community organisations, better able to influence the planning of local services
How do we apply?

Please download and fill in the short application form and return it to the address given along with any supporting documents.

How long will our application take to process?

Our rules state that applications must be submitted for consideration / approval to CentrePoint Corporation C.I.C Committee which currently meets every month. If the application is approved membership will be granted and ratified under Special Resolution at a General Meeting. We will keep applicants up-to-date with how their application is proceeding and once the application is approved they will be treated as members.
